In 2008, Punk contested 163 WWE matches, making him the wrestler who worked the most times that year. This was the time he was really breaking out in WWE, with matches across ECW, Raw, Smackdown and pay per view. The next year, he kept that record up, again working more matches than any other wrestler on the roster. His 2009 total was 183 matches, making it his hardest working year in wrestling. You could even say that those two years were his peak, as he slowed down considerably after that, mostly due to the realisation that his years in the business were numbered. His body wasn't holding up well to the rigours of the job.
