15 MORE Wrestlers WWE Debuted In The Worst Way Possible
2. Scotty Goldman
Through his Art Of Wrestling podcast, Colt Cabana has become something of a household name within wrestling. His sharp-wit bleeds into his in-ring work, where his natural sense of comedic timing and how in-tune he is with audiences has seen him become a beloved wrestler on the independents and an occasional member of AEW's Dark Order.
His lovable personality was given absolutely no chance when Colt Cabana landed in WWE, performing under his actual name, Scotty Goldman. Debuting on the August 12th, 2008 episode of SmackDown, Goldman would manage to lose in less than 3 minutes to The Brian Kendrick. He was then beaten by The Great Khali and lost a two-on-one handicap match against Vladimir Kozlov while teaming with Funaki inside a month, before being kept off of WWE TV until February 17th, 2009, losing to Umaga.
What was most deflating about this run is that WWE's audience would have no idea that he possessed excellent comedic chops. When the height of his comedy was to use a paper bag as a ventriloquist dummy to insult The Great Khali, this all represented a great wasted opportunity for WWE.
