15 MORE Wrestlers WWE Debuted In The Worst Way Possible
9. JC Mateo
It's easy to forget that a lot of people who consume WWE television do not engage with wrestling outside of that product. Jeff Cobb has been a champion in NJPW, Lucha Underground, and Ring of Honor, as well as winning numerous other accolades on the independent scene. He is a hot commodity to those in the know, but was never going to receive a hero's welcome just by arriving in the WWE.
When Cobb signed with WWE and debuted on the May 10th, 2025 as JC Mateo, it is the company's job to showcase what makes him so brilliant to those unfamiliar with his game. A hard-hitting powerhouse known for explosive physicality, his talents are worthy of him being booked as a monster who feels like a giant hurdle for WWE's litany of superstars to overcome.
Instead, JC Mateo has been booked as the weakest link in Solo Sikoa's MFT stable. WWE's audience has seen next to none of the crushing offense that made him such an attraction before setting foot in sports entertainment. It's a crying shame to see him making little-to-no impact since his arrival, because the audience that watches him every week is being deprived of what made him the hot commodity that made WWE want to sign him in the first place.
