If there's ever been a contradiction of the rules in the WWE, it's got to be the time that a title was won by the loser of the match. The Women's title during the Attitude Era had a pretty sketchy time, because it was essentially awarded to whoever was most popular with the audience at the time. With most popular being another term for whoever the crowd thought was the hottest. As such, the title was often contested in bikini contests, swimming pool matches and the ever popular and enduring lumberjill snowbunny match. On one occasion, the belt was on the line in an Evening Gown match between the champion Sable and challenger Debra. Sable won the match by stripping Debra, but in a weird turn of events, the decision was overturned. Commissioner of the time Shawn Michaels made the ruling that Debra's performance in the match was so technically brilliant, awe-inspiring and revolutionary that she was the true champion. Or it might have been the fact that she might have looked so good with her dress removed that HBK was inspired to announce her as the 'winner', and she was announced as the new Women's Champion.
