While nobody likes a suck-up, sometimes it pays off. This has proven to the case a couple of times in WWE's history, when one champion decides that they like their ally so much that they'd happily give them their championship as a gift. One such occurance was when Mideon (thankfully not naked at this point) came across the European Championship casually lying in Shane McMahon's bags, and as the reigning (and not really defending) champion of the time, Shane O'Mac chose to simply give Mideon the belt, and he became the official champion as a result. Mark Henry also got the gift of the European title (not sure what it is about that title in particular that makes people want to give it away) from Jeff Jarrett, as a thank you for his friendship and help in defending the Intercontinental & European titles which he held at the same time. People say it's better to give than to receive, but in the case of championships, it's probably not the best way of maintaining its prestige.
