In a brief lull in the Stone Cold vs. McMahon feud, the Undertakers Ministry Of Darkness had kidnapped Stephanie McMahon, the Dead Man appearing to have developed a fixation on her. Vince McMahon was in one of his rare babyface moments, and asked his arch enemy Austin to help him get his daughter back, but was given the finger in response. Brought to the ring, Stephanie was forced into a twisted marriage ceremony the the Undertaker, as Paul Bearer officiated the ceremony. Finally, tied to the Undertakers sacrificial symbol as many of his victims had been before, Stone Cold ran to the ring to save her, the grumpy babyface hero clearly having had a thats-all-I-can-stand-and-I-cant-stands-no-more Popeye moment backstage watching this. He was thanked by the grateful unwilling bride and even more grateful and even less willing father-in-law. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-c6wDFjQ8I A few weeks later, the Ministry Of Darkness boss (aka The Higher Power) was revealed to have been Vince McMahon all along: Stone Cold and Stephanie had been suckered in. Stalky-rapey Undertaker was working for his victim's father all along. I'm not sure whether that's a little better, or far, far worse, but I'm veering towards the latter.
