Firstly, it's important to note that there was real concern for Mick Foley's health and well-being when he tumbled off the top of the Cell structure through an announce table below. Vince McMahon, Terry Funk and countless others backstage were legit worried that Foley had gone too far, and their first port of call was making sure he was alright.

Or was it?

Gerald Brisco was sitting at Gorilla in a producer’s chair during the HIAC match, and he seemed to suggest differently when talking to VICE's producers for the doc. Sure, the backstage area blew up with concern for Mick when he took the first bump off the Cell, but then Brisco admits everyone manning the controls went “into business mode” trying to find the best angles to show replays.

In other words, business came first even though they didn’t know for sure what state Foley was in physically. The WWF had a pay-per-view audience to serve, and they wanted to maximise the impact of Mick's fall. Brisco didn't try to explain this away as anything other than "business", to be fair. This also doesn't mean for one second that Foley missed out on proper treatment as the production truck beamed various angles of his misfortune live to fans at home.

The same thing happened again once Mick had been chokeslammed through the cage ceiling. Were McMahon and his staff worried? Absolutely, but they also knew they'd struck content gold. People would be tripping over themselves to watch PPV replays for years and decades to come.
