Jericho wants to talk about some more of Kevin's amazing moments from his young run in WWE and talks about his debut against John Cena and what a huge way that was to be introduced. Owens agrees and says that working with Cena was one of the goals he had set for himself that he'd hoped to eventually accomplish at some point during his WWE career, so to start things off in a program with him was pretty wild.

It was also rewarding because of how big of a John Cena fan his son is, and recalls how his son's reaction video that his wife recorded went viral. A few weeks before the match he went to the Performance Center and John told him to make sure and bring Owen with him. It was his son's first visit to the PC and when he met Cena he was super excited.

Kevin says he's not sure if he's even supposed to talk about this but when going over ideas for their angle he mentioned to Cena that if they wanted to get personal he could tell a story about the time he and Owen attended a WWE show together, and despite a large portion of the crowd recognizing him as Kevin Steen, he sat there like a regular fan and rushed the guardrail in hopes that Owen would get a chance to shake his hand, but unfortunately John went straight to the back and his son was crushed.

Cena was mortified and apologized but Kevin assured him it wasn't a big deal and that his kid got over it right away. Cena suggested they maybe use that idea later on down the road but asked him to please tell Owen he was sorry, and when he met him at the PC John gave Owen a two page handwritten letter apologizing for that incident.

"Honestly, as a father, my crowning moment is when I got to see my son interact with John Cena for the first time. Just to see how happy Owen was...I felt like a great dad."

It takes a remarkable level of humility for Kevin Owens to openly declare what a huge fan his son is of Cena. Less secure fathers in any profession would have a hard time admitting their son looked up to one of their peers in such a way. He's to be commended for that.
