15 Times WWE Stars Made Cameos BEFORE They Were Famous

5. Kurt Angle

Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler dropped hints about the production quality (or lack thereof) on display during an 'Iron Circle' fight between Ken Shamrock and Steve Blackman at Fully Loaded 1999 when narrating on commentary. The cherished pair bemoaned the lack of lighting in the underground parking lot that hosted the brawl. Admittedly, it was a tough watch, and there's no way WWE would air something so dimly lit today.

Production has come on leaps and bounds since then - the 'Attitude Era' was often experimental, to be totally fair about it.

The lack of light makes it easy to miss the fact that Kurt Angle was there cheering Ken and Steve on. He was one of the unnamed wrestlers surrounding the 'Iron Circle' and banging his fists off a car hood. The Olympic hero had worked a one-off spot on Sunday Night Heat earlier in the year, but he wasn't a federation regular in July '99. He wouldn't become one until the tail end of the year.

It's pretty mad to think that Angle would be wrestling The Undertaker and on his way to becoming WWF Champion on the next year's Fully Loaded 2000. He shot up the company ladder like few others before him, and Kurt turned heads by impressively taking to the pros like he'd come out of womb cutting a promo before tearing the house down in main events on Raw.

He's only visible on-screen during Shamrock vs. Blackman for around 45 seconds, but it's defo him. Oh it's true, it's true. How tempting it must've been to put on an ankle lock for the banter, eh?
