15 Wrestlers WWE Debuted In The WORST Way Possible
10. Braden Walker's "Knock Knock" Joke
Debut: Ex-TNA standout Chris Harris must've been hoping he was on the cusp of greatness when he signed a WWE contract in 2008. He was introduced by ECW GM Teddy Long during a backstage skit on the 8 July episode with former GM Armando Estrada. Instead of giving Estrada the contract he was looking for, Long gave Armando a match with ECW's newest signing: Braden Walker.
Why It Was Bad: The Braden Walker name was generic enough without the WWE 2K25 CAW template singlet, elbow pads and boots Harris was wearing, but things got worse. Walker told Estrada a bad "knock knock" joke. When Umaga's former handler asked, "Who's there?", Braden answered: "Braden Walker, and I'm gonna knock your brains out". OK then.
Walker's hushed tones were less menacing and more, 'Speak up!'. Jake Roberts, this wasn't. Plus, deploying a knock knock gag only works if there's an actual punchline to it. Otherwise, you could use it for literally everything sans humour. Kinda ruins the point of using it all, doesn't it?
Braden's bold new adventure on 'C' brand ECW lasted two matches before he was canned. In select other backstage skits, he pretty much exclusively reintroduced himself (as if acknowledging that nobody was really watching ECW by 2008) and that was that. WWE couldn't have picked a less impressive name, look and debut combo for someone who had been over as heel in TNA. Even Harris himself visibly hated his own gimmick.
America's Most Wanted turned into one of WWE's least wanted practically overnight. It wasn't long before DVD boxset memes popped up on YouTube mocking Walker's short run and putting him forward for a Hall Of Fame speech. Poor dude.
