This writer will never forget a friend calling him up (someone who never called, but only text or sent voice notes) to say, 'WWE are running with Goldberg vs. The Undertaker? Really?! That's going to be a disaster!'. Said pal was proved correct once Super ShowDown 2019 came along in June of that year and both Bill and 'Taker ended up stinking the joint out with a smelly, wretched and highly dangerous botchfest.

Amazingly, it actually started off on the right footing. Goldberg and 'Taker traded powerful blows, but then Bill smacked his head, got a concussion and barely remembers anything after that. One of the most alarming spots came when Goldberg hoisted Undertaker up for a Jackhammer, appeared to lose his strength/balance, and almost dropped a fellow legend right on top of his head.

Thank God both were alright, but that was scary. Really, really scary.

Even Goldberg and 'Taker super-fans must've realised that it'd be a tall order for them to gel or come up with anything worthwhile by this stage in their respective careers. Hell, Goldberg vs. Undertaker would've been a slog had it gone longer than a few minutes in 1999, never mind giving them almost 10 to work with a full 20 years on.

'Taker's annoyed facial expression post-match told the tale of somebody who knew time had come for him as an active worker. WWE ran this dream-style bout for money and because the Saudi paymasters asked for it, but they somehow green lit a match that was worse than it looked to skeptics on paper.
