Another in-ring veteran to feature on this list is 'The Gold Standard' Shelton Benjamin. The former ROH wrestler could join the WWE Grand Slam Champions club if he ever wins the premier title of the company. The creative team has never considered him as a main event player.

Benjamin is currently in his second stint with Vince McMahon's organisation. Back in the first decade of this century, he was a prominent name in ECW. On that brand, he captured his first United States Championship and held the title for 243 days. Shelton had won the title from Matt Hardy at The Great American Bash event.

While he won the gold multiple times during his first run as a superstar, he has not held any top tier title after coming back to the most prominent company in the world of sports entertainment. Currently, he wrestles with the upcoming stars on Main Event.
