Who was excited about this match going into Extreme Rules? Not many people were. It was a very pleasant surprise.

Roman Reigns was temporarily out of the title picture since being screwed by Rollins' Money In The Bank cash-in at WrestleMania. He needed a holdover until being reinserted back into a feud with Seth. Cue the world's largest athlete.

The match was a little slow during the first half. Big Show still found a way to entertain with fun moments of breaking Kendo sticks and removing tables. He's a giant who doesn't need weapons; it was also a good way to spite the crowd.

Reigns really stood out due to some impressive bumps near the end. Most notably was when he was chokeslammed out of the ring through a couple of tables on the floor. It was one of the few truly extreme moments of the show, giving Roman a huge deficit to battle back from.

The spears through the barricade and then the announce table helped give the match a well-paced climax as well.

Unlike previous singles Pay-Per-View matches, this bout felt more like Roman was participating more than simply being led by the more veteran wrestler. His presence was that of an equal to Big Show, making the statement that his main event level is rightfully earned.
