17 WWE Superstars Who Mysteriously Lost A Name

5. Sheamus (O'Shaughnessy)

Before a "Sheamus" was a giant screaming albino, it was a slang term for a private detective, particularly one in noir fiction. If you're picturing the Great White trying to wedge his mohawk under a fedora and combing Brylcreem through his beard, well, welcome to my life since 2007. Originally, Sheamus came packaged with the surname "O'Shaughnessy", which either lessens the private detective link or increases it, depending on whether you've seen "The Maltese Falcon."

Sheamus remained an O'Shaughnessy throughout his entire independent career and his time in FCW, finally having his surname shorn off when he arrived on the WWE version of ECW. My completely unsubstantiated guess? The late, great Dusty Rhodes was working on ECW at the time, and "Sheamus O'Shaughnessy" was entirely too many S's for Dream to lisp through in a given booking meeting.
