18 Most Underrated Storylines In WrestleMania History

16. Chyna Vs. Ivory - WrestleMania X-Seven

Ivory may very well be the most underrated and under-appreciated heel from WWE's Attitude Era. A phenomenal villain who had a penchant for infuriating the audience, she was the real reason for the longevity of The Right to Censor faction. In December 2000, her and Val Venis drove Chyna head-first into the mat with a vicious spike piledriver that threatened her career. At Royal Rumble the next month, The Ninth Wonder of the World would return to action, battling her yapping female rival in what would be to her first opportunity to win the Women's Championship. A cartwheel elbow backfired, though, as Chyna's head jerked backward against the turnbuckle, aggravating the neck injury. Ivory took it upon herself in the weeks that followed to mock Chyna and what could very well have been the end of her storybook career. Instead of hanging up the boots and leather chaps, the raven-haired beauty returned and made her intentions to dethrone Ivory known, leading to a fairly heated title bout at WrestleMania X-Seven. There, Chyna playfully dismantled her opponent and captured the Women's gold for the first time in her Hall of Fame-worthy career. The story was the epitome of what wrestling should be; there was a definitive heel and a clear babyface, and the story of retribution is as old as time. Chyna bowled over the loudmouthed villain and fans had their happy ending. Clean, simple and far more effective than any of the overly-complicated stories fans are fed today.
