18 Most Underrated Storylines In WrestleMania History
12. X-Pac Vs. Shane McMahon - WrestleMania XV
X-Pac had spent the second-half of 1998 adding credibility to the WWE European Championship, working strong matches with D'Lo Brown on Raw and pay-per-view. As the new year dawned, though, D-Generation X put itself at odds with The Corporation. X-Pac was just one of his fellow degenerates to experience the wrath of the authoritative faction. He dropped the European title in controversial fashion to Shane McMahon, of all people, and began a feud with the prodigal son of WWE that became one of the hottest on the road to WrestleMania. McMahon introduced the WWE Universe to the Mean Street Posse, his rich buddies from Greenwich who were essential to the new champion constantly one-upping X-Pac and fueling the fire for their singles match at WrestleMania. A great heel who ran his mouth despite being completely outmatched, Shane was essential to the story getting over to the extent that it did. At The Showcase of the Immortals, X-Pac beat the ever-loving hell out off McMahon and fended off interference from the Posse and Test to put himself in position to regain his title. Few would have ever expected the shocking betrayal by Triple H that would lead to McMahon retaining his gold and the destruction of D-Generation X, but that's how it played out.
