18 Things We Learned From Enzo & Big Cass On The Steve Austin Show
8. Watching Film Of Classic Tag Teams
The NXT Performance Center is mentioned and Enzo says the two of them watch more film that anyone in the history of the business, pointing out how accessible everything is at the PC.
Austin says he loves to go back and watch classic tag team footage and namedrops Arn and Ole Anderson, Arn and Tully Blanchard, both the Rock n' Roll and Midnight Express and the Freebirds and asks if any of those teams are influences on their work.
Before they have a chance to answer Steve adds that one of his biggest peeves is when two wrestlers get thrown together as a team but it's still just two guys having singles matches rather than becoming a cohesive unit.
Cass agrees and talks about Dash and Dawson and credits them as being the exact type of team he's describing and Stone Cold concurs, saying that he loves those guys.
Enzo says the generation Steve is detailing is the defining era of tag team wrestling, and mentions that when the NXT teams go out there they want to live up to that standard. He says their philosophy is to build toward the eventual hot tag and blow the roof off the place.
He credits all the other groups in NXT with trying to revive the philosophy of tag team wrestling and create a new renaissance.
