19 Things You Probably Missed From WWE SmackDown (July 9)

7. No Surnames/Forenames Needed

Why do WWE hate some names they give workers in the first place so much? Shotzi Blackheart's name was shortened to just Shotzi, and Tegan Nox lost her forename to become just Nox. Together, they're "Shotzi & Nox", which sounds like a Nickelodeon TV series from the early-90s.

Cole did mention Tegan's first name a few times on commentary, at least, but this sort of thing is a bit insulting to anybody who cared about these women on NXT. If that brand is supposed to be on equal footing with Raw and SmackDown, then these random tweaks need to stop.

6. Tamina Almost Getting Hit

Major respect to Tamina for not budging an inch here.

Though Shotzi's tank missile is hardly some weapon of mass destruction, it's human nature to flinch when something/anything is flying right at your face. Tamina didn't - she stood firmly as the missile breezed past her head.

Natalya? Not so much. Nattie acted like her tag-team partner was about to take some sort of giant explosive to the chops. WWE's replay of this was pretty cool, if only because of Tamina's Terminator-like stance and the slow-mo style.

5. A Runner Almost Bumping Liv Morgan

Liv Morgan stopped for a quick word with reigning SmackDown Women's Champ Bianca Belair on the ramp before skedaddling to the backstage area. Before she reached it, a WWE runner suddenly came sprinting out from behind the curtain and almost knocked her over.

What was this all about?

It's unclear exactly what the runner was doing out there at all. Did he have some cabling to fix? Or...who knows actually. The cameraman on the stage shifted to the right a little so that he'd only shoot Bianca and not this random dude.
