2 Ups & 5 Downs From WWE SmackDown (31 Oct - Results & Review)
3. Tiffany & Jade Needed More Fire
Firstly, this writer liked seeing Tiffany Stratton gatecrash the SmackDown open to call out Jade Cargill, but then nothing really happened to maintain her energy. Stratton was held back by a single security guard as Jade just stood there smirking. Put it this way: Cargill could’ve taken an easy pot shot at the champ, but she didn’t. Something felt off here.
The minor wrinkles weren’t really ironed out, and it felt like more was supposed to happen. Jade should’ve been more vicious, and Tiffany should’ve been willing to fight an army to get to Cargill for turning on her last time out. Instead, she was content to stand mid-ring until security were already in front of Jade, then didn't seem all that bothered when a solitary guard stopped her from getting to her arch nemesis.
Hmm.
Nick Aldis adding a no contact clause before the SNME title match was half-baked too. They need to get this belt off Tiffany, man. Her reign has sagged hard, and it clearly isn't going to get any better. Last week's match vs. Kiana James was a brief reprieve for her as a worker/character, but the wheels fell off again here. It's sad to see, because she's clearly very talented. The title is strangling her nowadays though.
Real questions need to be asked if Jade doesn't win the thing this weekend. That title victory would give her heel turn an extra added spark (think Naomi), and it's practically begging to come off of Stratton at this stage. Get out there on Saturday and do the right thing, WWE. Title switch incoming.
