Want to hear a loud pop from a crowd? Have a major star return unannounced a half-year before he was expected back in the ring. When Edge tore his Achilles tendon in July 2009, he was probably going to be on the shelf for a year. WrestleMania XXVI had to be out of the question.

Instead, Edge unexpectedly entered the 2010 Royal Rumble at #29 to a thunderous ovation and went on to win the match. Some say that Edge’s return was telegraphed by Chris Jericho, his former tag team partner, bad-mouthing Edge more frequently in the lead-up to the Rumble, but it definitely didn’t take away from the Rated-R Superstar’s return.

Edge would go on to lose his World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania to Jericho, and he would then be forced to retire a year later. But his return at the 2010 Rumble was an incredible moment that helped cap his career.
