20 Former WWE Stars Who Should Enter A Gimmick Battle Royal At WrestleMania 37
1. Gillberg
Duane Gill was a standard low-end jobber during the early years of his career. He was swiftly let go from the WWF in 1994, before returning during the Attitude Era. In 1998, as part of the J.O.B squad, Gill defeated Christian to shockingly win the Light Heavyweight Championship (which he somehow held for a record 448 days).
It was during this title reign that Gill became entrenched in wrestling folklore as one of the great jobbing competitors of all-time.
He became ‘Gillberg’ – a comedic parody of WCW powerhouse Goldberg.
Gillberg used the same entrance as Goldberg, during which faulty sparklers and pyrotechnics would greet him on stage, and even converted Big Bill’s famous catchphrase “Who’s Next” to “Who’s First”, as he would never actually win his matches. It was so dorky, yet charmingly silly at the same time, and got over huge with crowds thanks to Gill’s ability to play the role to hilarious perfection.
Forever on the Mt. Rushmore of wrestling jobbers, Gillberg would be an appropriate winner of the second ever WrestleMania Gimmick Battle Royal.
