20 Most Horrifically Stupid Things That Ever Happened In WCW
11. Scott Hall's Demons
Scott Hall has always been one of professional wrestling's saddest stories. A talented grappler in the 1980s, he was brought to WWE in 1992 with the Scarface-inspired gimmick of Razor Ramon. Hall, fully embracing the ridiculous aspect of the character he played, became one of WWE's most popular performers, capturing the Intercontinental Championship and having classic matches with Shawn Michaels, amongst others.
However, Hall's battles with drugs and alcohol hampered his career throughout the '90s. After jumping to WCW in 1996 to kick-start the nWo angle, Hall's problems seemed to worsen. Not only was he dealing with substance abuse, but he would frequently run afoul of the law, receiving arrests for vandalism and lewd conduct.
After returning to WCW following a stint in rehab, Hall turned on real-life best-friend Kevin Nash, sparking a feud between the two that culminated at Halloween Havoc 1998. Hall's problems with alcohol were blamed, on-screen, for his actions, and became a central part of feud. While battling the same problems in reality, Nitro and Thunder would depict a "drunken" Hall getting into fights in bars and vomiting on air.
Hall's feud with Nash would soon end, but his problems continued. He returned to WWE in 2002, alongside Nash and Hogan, where his addictions were once again used as fodder for storylines. He would be released after only a few months due to his unprofessional conduct. Again, a wrestling organization was more interested in taking advantage of Hall than helping him.
Perhaps, though, this is a story with a happy ending. In 2013, Hall joined recovering addict Jake 'The Snake' Roberts at the home of Diamond Dallas Page, who has used a yoga/nutrition-centered program to improve the lives of his troubled friends. Today, Hall and Roberts are doing better than they have in years - both men have since been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Hopefully, "The Bad Guy's" days of being unwell - and exploited - have come to an end.
