Opening the card at his first-ever WrestleMania, John Cena was riding the crest of a wave of immense popularity. Already describing himself as "the franchise player on the Super Bowl stage", John exploded into Madison Square Garden in a New York Knicks jersey with 33 Ewing on the back like he owned the place. Just a few minutes later, he'd also own Big Show's WWE United States Championship.

This may not rank as one of the best matches of Cena's career, but that doesn't mean it isn't essential viewing. Watch John Cena as he seems genuinely blown away by the decibel-shattering love he is shown from the notoriously hard-nosed New York fans. It's easy to say in hindsight, but just his entrance alone makes it abundantly clear that WWE had a phenom in Cena from the jump.

Hitting Show with his trademark Word Life knucks, Cena then had his own "Hogan slams The Giant" moment by hoisting Big Show up onto his shoulders and landing the FU. It was the perfect way to kickstart WrestleMania 20 and begin John Cena's WrestleMania journey.
