20 Longest WWE Intercontinental Title Reigns

6. Mr. Perfect - 280 Days

The Rock Ic Champ

To many people, Mr. Perfect is the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time. And those people could very well be right.

The arrogant, cock-sure Curt Hennig certainly talked the talk and most definitely walked the walk, putting away many an opponent with his patented Perfect Plex, often accompanied by Bobby Heenan or even Coach.

Perfect had already held IC gold earlier in his career, winning a tournament for the vacant Intercontinental Championship after Ultimate Warrior had given up the gold after Wrestlemania 6, but it was his second run with the belt that was Mr. Perfect's lengthiest.

After reclaiming the IC Title from Kerry Von Erich, Perfect would have a 280-day reign with the belt, bumping around for many a babyface whilst still managing to walk away with the gold around his waist. He would eventually lose the title to Bret Hart at Summerslam '91 in a match which many remember as one of the greatest IC Title bouts of all time.

Whilst Hennig's time as IC Champ is one of the title's most iconic runs, it could've been so much more had injuries not forced him to drop the belt to Hart.
