1. The Ultimate Warrior Held Talks About Appearing In 1999
In one of the most truly bizarre factoids to ever come to light regarding the original ECW, Paul Heyman held short talks with The Ultimate Warrior about making a few one-off appearances on shows. Apparently, Heyman actually asked Warrior if he'd be interested in jobbing to one of his stars, something which the wrestler quite obviously was never going to agree to. It's a sign of how large an outfit ECW was in the late-90's that they were even discussing terms with stars the size of Warrior. Clearly, the talks didn't even get as far as seriously discussing a contract, but that was never really going to be what was on offer - having left WCW and not on good terms with the WWF, Warrior would have been able to pocket a nice pay day for appearing in ECW. On one level however, it seems unlikely that Heyman and ECW would have had the cash to pay Warrior what he would have wanted, especially considering they were struggling day-to-day by 1999. Imagine The Ultimate Warrior had run down the aisle way at an ECW event, shaking the ropes inside the ring and then shockingly laying down for a top ECW star?
