20 Mind-Blowing Facts About WWE

10. The Attendance Record

With WWE now owning the entire industry, it is no surprise that most of the company records have been established this century. However, WWE still claim that the attendance record was established in 1987, at WrestleMania 3. That claim isn't true. It is another pro wrestling work. The actual highest attendance for a WWE show was in New Jersey's MetLife Stadium, when the WWE held WrestleMania 29 in 2013. There were 80,676 fans in attendance that night. However, some critics even dispute that, and say that SummerSlam 1992 was the WWE's biggest crowd. Officially, SummerSlam 92 at London's Wembley Stadium was an 80,355 attendance, but some estimates put it as high as 83,000. The Mania 3 attendance that WWE likes to write up is 93,173. It is thought that the actual attendance was 78,000. WrestleMania 32 should put all contenders well out of the way, with 100,000 fans expected at 2016's Cowboys Stadium show.
