A cynical person might suggest that this whole year of Seth Rollins dominating Monday Night Raw was all building towards The Vision's leader setting up a singles match with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42. The two former Shield men spent much of 2025 tiptoeing around one another, with Reigns having to deal with Rollins' henchmen in order to get to Raw's big dog.
There had been a resigned inevitability about the procession towards the main event of WrestleMania 42 being dominated by Reigns vs Rollins that felt oddly flat.
