20 Most Anticipated Wrestling Matches Of 2026

1. Kenny Omega vs Bryan Danielson

If this list is about fantasy booking, then allow us to save the biggest reach for last. Despite having a "last match" in his loss to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2024, rumors persist that Bryan Danielson may have one last run in him. This was partly fueled by Bryan making a run-in during the 'Hangman' Adam Page vs Moxley match at All In and squashing Max Caster in an eight-second dark match at an AEW Collision taping.

Kenny Omega has had a difficult return to the ring after his heartbreaking struggles with diverticulitis. While it is important that everyone remembers that he suffered so badly with this that he was 24 hours from death, Omega is one of the most electrifying performers to ever grace a wrestling ring, and those high standards have felt noticeably lower since his return.

The sole AEW meeting between these two in-ring greats took place at Grand Slam 2021, ending in a time limit draw and resulting in one of the greatest singles matches to ever happen on American soil. If Danielson has one more AEW match left in him, it simply has to be against Omega. No other candidate should even be entertained.
