20 Obscure WWE Tag Teams You Totally Don't Remember

2. The Gatecrashers

WWE's disastrous ECW revival produced swatches of forgettable superstars, and Vance Archer stands alongside Braden Walker and Ricky Ortiz as one of the brand's most faceless performers. The former Lance Hoyt signed for WWE in 2009, and while he initially debuted with a winning streak angle, Archer slowly fell-off after losing the streak to Shelton Benjamin.

He seemed lost at sea when ECW dissolved in 2010, and spent most of his team competing in dark matches or working for FCW, WWE's developmental territory at the time. A few months later, Archer started teaming with Curt Hawkins as The Gatecrashers, and after defeating a team of local competitors on SmackDown, Hawkins announced that they'd been given 30-day contracts to "make an impact."

They attempted to do this by attacking MVP and Christian over two consecutive weeks, and were even able to defeat the duo on June 18th. This earned the tandem full-time contracts, but as with most of the teams on our list, their premature end was just around the corner. Miscommunication led to Archer striking Hawkins during a tag match on an episode of Superstars, but there was never any kind of feud between the two. The Gatecrashers vanished without a word, and Archer was released within a month.
