20 Original WWE Character Concepts You Won’t Believe

3. Doink

Doink Concept
WWE

Doink was often an unfair shortcut for 'insulting WWE sh*t' back in the mid-1990s, but the original incarnation of the gimmick was magic in its monstrosity. As too were the original sketches for the character.

The shaved (yet still green) head is a delightfully devilish touch, with the madcap colour scheme substantially more sinister than the end result that made air. A clown gimmick was potentially always destined to fail - but the murderous intent of the original idea was regrettably shelved.
