20 Reasons Why WWE Superstar Shake-Up 2019 Was An Absolute Mess

3. Pillaging Raw's Women's Division

SmackDown's women's division looks awesome coming out of the Superstar Shake-Up. Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Asuka were already there. Joining them are Bayley, who is one of the main reasons this Revolution took off in the first place, the underutilised Ember Moon, and Kairi Sane, who's among the most likeable babyfaces in the entire company. Mickie James is a solid veteran hand who'll play a key role as a midcard gatekeeper, and the likes of Mandy Rose, Liv Morgan, and Sonya Deville are all laced with potential.

Contrast the situation with Raw's sh*tty new division. Lynch, the champion, is a SmackDown wrestler. Ronda Rousey will be absent for something between nine and twelve months, and the same goes for Nia Jax. Sasha Banks has taken her ball and gone home. This leaves a character-first performer in Alexa Bliss, Lacey Evans, Natalya, and a bunch of flotsam.

It's hard to see what WWE were trying to accomplish here, given how important women's wrestling has become to their modern product. Raw's group is thinner than your writer's hairline. They're really, really going to struggle to hold interest, particularly if WWE take the belt off Becky.
