6. Chris Jericho Confronts Shawn Michaels

When it comes to scaring people, there's horror and there's terror. Though the two terms are used interchangeably, many feel that "terror" more accurately refers to cultivating a sense of dread and anticipation in a scary setting - it's not so much not knowing what comes next, it's just not knowing when it will come.

WWE came close to delivering pure Hitchcockian terror at SummerSlam 2008 when Shawn Michaels and his wife, Rebecca, came to the ring to address the WWE Universe. Following repeated assaults from Chris Jericho, Michaels had suffered eye damage and was prepared to announce his retirement.

Jericho interrupted Michaels's speech, though, and got face-to-face with his foe. As the two addressed each other, the tension mounted, and fans knew something terrible would happen. Their fears were realized when Jericho - who had been using an unnerving character inspired by No Country For Old Men's Anton Chigurh - tried to strike Michaels... and accidentally hit Rebecca.
