20 Scariest Wrestling Moments Ever
5. Los Psycho Circus Debuts
It's been said that a major cause of coulrophobia, or fear of clowns, is simply the sheer number of evil clowns portrayed in popular culture. From The Joker to It, there's no shortage of murderous clowns in fiction (and fact, thanks to serial killer John Wayne Gacy), and so there's little wonder that so many children and adults are afraid of them.
Wrestling has done its part to promote coulrophobia, with WWE's Doink being the most notable - but not the most extreme - example. 2007 saw the AAA debut of Los Psycho Circus, a trio made up of Zombie Clown (now Monster Clown), Psycho Clown, and Killer Clown (now Murder Clown), and the three monsters ran roughshod over the lucha libre promotion.
With horrifying masks and twisted backstories, Los Psycho Circus decimated babyfaces Aero Star, Super Fly, and Pegasso in their initial appearance, but would spend the next three years racking up an undefeated streak with wins over good guys and bad guys alike.
