20 Superstars Who Only Had One Championship Reign In WWE
7. Mr. Kennedy
Whether it was as Mr. Money in the Bank or as Vince McMahon's illegitimate son, WWE always had big plans for Mr. Kennedy. Sadly, none of these things came to be; he lost Money in the Bank to Edge; he lost the illegitimate son thing to Hornswoggle; and he eventually lost his job because of a Randy Orton temper tantrum.
On an episode of SmackDown in 2006, Kennedy won his one and only United States Championship as part of a Triple Threat match. Unfortunately, he dropped the title to Chris Benoit less than two months later. This loss was undoubtedly so that Kennedy could move on to bigger and better things, but, as we've already covered, those things never happened.
After a promising career thrown into disarray, Kennedy was able to get things back on track after he left WWE in 2009. As Mr. Anderson, he currently works for the NWA and is a former two-time TNA Heavyweight Champion. With wrestling outside of WWE going through a recent resurgence and with a lot of his fans still out there, we may well be seeing Mr. Kennedy back on our TV screens very soon.
