From one controversial gimmick to another, it's time to talk about Eugene.

Nick Dinsmore had the entire wrestling world talking when he debuted for WWE in 2004 as the "special" nephew of Eric Bischoff. Eugene was immediately inserted into high-profile storylines and even had a match with Triple H at that year's SummerSlam.

He also formed a father-son style bond with William Regal, which led to the two men unseating La Résistance as World Tag Team Champions on a November 2004 episode of Raw. Their reign lasted into 2005, but ended abruptly when Eugene injured himself at New Year's Revolution.

Amazingly, this was Eugene's one and only run with a title in WWE. The reason this is amazing is not just because Nick Dinsmore was a very talented wrestler (which he was), but because he is one of the most decorated champions in WWE developmental history. Before being called up to the main roster, Dinsmore won the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) Heavyweight Championship eight times and their Southern Tag Team Championships 11 times! And yet, on the main roster, one reign was all he got.

That may have had something to do with his gimmick, but who's to say...
