The Royal Rumble is both one of the most prestigious and chaotic matches in WWE history. It takes a special kind of Superstar to defeat 29 (or 39 in that one case) other Superstars and earn a spot in the main event at WrestleMania. In fact, only 23 different individuals have won this match, and the Undertaker was one of them. Prior to 2007, Undertaker had an impressive record in terms of appearances and eliminations. He had also appeared at #30 twice before, once in 1997 and again in 2003, but despite always being a favorite to win, he would always get eliminated by someone else, or in other cases, a non-participant would eliminate him. But that all came to an end in 2007. Entering at #30, Undertaker eliminated the Great Khali, who was destroying everyone before Taker entered the ring and, after Edge and Randy Orton were also eliminated, proceeded to give the audience a great contest between himself and Shawn Michaels. Prior to their WrestleMania matches, this was one of the few encounters that the two of them had together, and as such, it was special. They put on an incredibly exciting performance, with many near-eliminations and nerve-wracking moments. When Taker finally managed to eliminate Michaels, the audience went nuts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYpmkR9tvc8 Many people have considered that bout to be the best final two ending to a Royal Rumble ever, which shouldnt come as a surprise for those who know just how great the Undertaker is at making big matches feel bigger.
