20 WCW Easter Eggs, References And In-Jokes You Never Noticed

12. Billy Gunn's "Jackhammer Suplex"

Vince McMahon's "sully the name of Bill Goldberg at all costs" campaign when Goldberg was WCW's #1 attraction reached its most epic in-ring heights not with the aforementioned "Gillberg" sketches, but rather when, of all people, the main event level pushed "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn began using the Jackhammer roughly around the point of his "King of the Ring" crowning in 1999. Of course, the maneuver was not Gunn's finisher. No, it was merely a big move he'd hit and get a near fall, a way of not-so subtly discrediting one of the competition's biggest names. Even called the "Jackhammer Suplex" on television by Jim Ross, it was odd, possibly petty and certainly one of the more intriguing disses lobbed at WCW by the WWF.
