20 Worst Moments Of CM Punk's WWE Career

2. His Last Match At The 2014 Royal Rumble

With Survivor Series coming up, Punk aligned himself with Daniel Bryan to challenge The Wyatt Family in a tag team battle. After that, Punk contested with The Shield, which turned on him. That set up a natural match for the last event of 2013, TLC, in which Punk somehow won yet another handicap match. The 2014 Royal Rumble could have been Punk's chance for redemption. He was already setting up for what would be a vicious match against Triple H at the upcoming WrestleMania XXX. If he could get a chance at some championship gold by winning the Rumble, perhaps he would even be in the main event this year. After landing the unlucky number one Rumble slot, Punk stuck around until the very end, with only three other competitors remaining. However, after Punk had taken Kane out earlier in the match, The Big Red Machine came back for revenge, yanking Punk over the ropes. CM Punk would never appear on WWE television again, and that poor exit would be his last contribution to the company.
