20 Wrestlers You Totally Forgot Held WWE Championships

7. Nunzio (Cruiserweight Champion)

As Little Guido, Nunzio was an ECW stalwart and a highly underrated cruiserweight wrestler. He was a sharp mat wrestler with bags of charisma, and he was pitch perfect as the FBI’s figurehead. While ECW’s incarnation of the stable were a comedy act, WWE went down a more serious route with Johnny “The Bull” Stamboli and Chuck Palumbo as members, though they soon faded away.

Nunzio largely propped-up the lower-card while working for WWE, but he had a couple of brief runs as Cruiserweight Champion in 2005. Through wrestling primarily on Velocity, Nunzio won the title from Paul London thanks to interference from Vito, his debuting sidekick, but lost it to Juventud Guerrara a few weeks later.

That November, Nunzio recaptured the Cruiserweight Title from Juvi at a Rome house show, but his second reign lasted just ten days. Nunzio stayed with WWE through to 2008 before coming back to the company as a referee in 2011, and continues to operate on the independent circuit today.
