20 Wrestlers You Totally Forgot Held WWE Championships

16. Kenzo Suzuki (Tag Team Champion)

WWE don’t have the best record when it comes to handling Japanese talent, and Kenzo Suzuki is no exception. Though never the most exciting wrestler in the world, he was a solid worker who came to WWE after leaving NJPW’s Young Lion scheme, and debuted with the company in 2004.

A few months into his career, Suzuki started teaming with former La Resistance member Rene Dupree, who was a former WWE Tag Team Champion himself. The duo defeated Billy Kidman and Paul London to win the belts that September, but the act soon went off the rails.

While Dupree skipped his poodle FiFi to the ring, Kenzo adopted a bizarre pro-American comedy gimmick after debuting as an anti-American Japanese patriot. His run as a tag champion failed to connect on any level, and he and Dupree lost the belts to Rob Van Dam and Rey Mysterio two months later. Kenzo was released from his WWE contract in June 2005, and went on to build a strong career for himself in AJPW.
