20 Wrestlers You Totally Forgot Held WWE Championships

17. Chavo Classic (Cruiserweight Champion)

Chavo Classic started working for WWE in 2004, and debuting alongside his son, Chavo Guerrero Jr. Though never the biggest star in Mexico or America, Chavo Sr. brought 34 years experience to the table, and initially served as his son's manager.

WWE seemed to be on an unstoppable crusade to run their Cruiserweight Title into the ground at the time, and they compounded this in May. Chavo Classic, his son, and champion Spike Dudley engaged in a Triple Threat for the belt, and the veteran inexplicably won the belt by accidentally falling on Chavo Jr. for the 1, 2, 3.

Bizarrely, WWE chose not to pull the plug on his run straight away. Chavo held the belt for close to a month, much to his son's chagrin, and was often seen defending it on house shows. The end was nigh, though: Rey Mysterio took the belt from him on June 15th, and after no-showing a couple of SmackDown live events, Chavo Sr. was released from his WWE contract.
