20 WWE Ruthless Aggression Era Tag Teams You've Already Forgotten
16. The Heart Throbs
Antonio Thomas and Romeo Roselli came to WWE in 2005 to work history's least believable ladies' men gimmick. The joke, such as it was, was that they were a pair of Robbie E-looking fools that somehow believed they were Rick Rude. This was somehow not enough to garner meaningful crowd reactions, and their specialty was losing to marginally better teams on Sunday Night Heat.
If you want anecdotal evidence of how brief and unremarkable the Heart Throbs' WWE run was, my most vivid memory of them is the blond one getting beaten up by Jerry Lawler at an indy show like 6 months after their release. They're still coasting on that 10 month run, too, because I saw the same match fairly recently, and I can't picture even the most desperate indy promoter getting on the phone to demand THE Jerry Lawler/Romeo Roselli match.
Today They'd Be: On the NXT house show circuit trying to come up with a less off-putting gimmick.
