2017 WWE Superstar Shake-Up Ranked - From Worst To Best

15. Lana

Has WWE completely given up on Lana as an in-ring competitor? It appears so. If not, they really should think about doing so. The days of taking models and turning them into professional wrestlers seem to be over, and Lana is something of a throwback to those days. Rusev’s former manager isn’t going to be a great worker, and that is absolutely fine.

What she is however, is a fantastic presence on WWE TV. Lana moved over to SmackDown Live as part of the Superstar Shake-Up, and she received a number of vignettes ahead of her debut - a SmackDown Women’s Championship match against Naomi. She wasn’t able to win the title in her debut, and there has been a whole lot of nothing ever since.

Lana’s 2017 has been disappointing, but that isn’t to say that all is lost. The well-publicised backstage issues seem to have come to an end, and WWE clearly wants to use her in a focused role. If Daniel Bryan leaves his position as SmackDown Live General Manager, the Ravishing Russian could be an outside bet to replace him.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
