22 Injured AEW Stars (And When They're Set To Return)

5. Kenny Omega

Verbatim, Dave Meltzer had a worrying insight on the diverticulitis-diagnosed Kenny Omega in the 25 December, 2023 Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

"At the 12/13 show in Arlington, TX, the pain was very clear backstage and after doing his promo ended up in the hospital where he got the diagnosis. He was told when diagnosed that he was very lucky he went in because the situation could have been catastrophic, such as getting a blood infection, if he wasn’t diagnosed at the time he was, which would have something like a 50 percent chance of death."

He underwent surgery on 16 May and has appeared just once on AEW programming, doing so to proclaim that Double or Nothing's Anarchy in the Arena match would see The Elite vs. Team AEW, but otherwise, Kenny has been AWOL. A scheduled NJPW return for 4 November's Power Struggle may see Kenny discuss his future a tad further, however, as things stand, don't expect to see seven stars in the Tokyo Dome come Wrestle Dynasty in January.

Returning: Unknown.
