25 Best Moments Of WWE Monday Night RAW (Year-By-Year)

15. 2003: Goldberg Debuts

2003 saw big change for WWE.

With the dust settled from WCW's demise and a new talent base assembled, the company was ready to move on from the two men who carried them through the war, Austin and Rock: one due to injury, and the other to Hollywood. However, before Rock bid farewell to his time as a WWE superstar, he decided to squeeze out one more money match, luring one of the last great holdouts from WCW: Bill Goldberg.

One of the big problems with the Invasion era of 2001-02 was the lack of real WCW star power, and Goldberg was one of the notable absences. Here was a man completely the creation of the competition, and he chose to not play Vince's game for some time. Now, in 2003, here he was, challenging The Rock, setting up a dream match, and putting one of the final nails in the coffin for the late Monday Night Wars.

Goldberg's 2003 run may not have been great, but this moment was huge.
