25 Best Moments Of WWE Monday Night RAW (Year-By-Year)
16. 2002: The Game Is Back
Triple H really is a lucky SOB.
Even after a devastating quad injury, he was blessed with perfect timing, as he missed out on the entire Invasion debacle. When healed up by January 2002, he returned in front of Madison Square Garden to rapturous applause, turning babyface. He recovered from a quad injury, missed out on the worst storyline in company history, and was now a fan favorite without having done anything heroic. Life's good when you're Hunter Hearst Helmsley.
Of course, the segment with Hunter's return is fantastic. In interviews, Hunter said that the feeling was overwhelming as he was drowned in cheers, and and it's not hard to see why. It was clear the fans genuinely missed Triple H, and were happy to have him back after such a dismal few months of creative.
While Hunter's face run wouldn't last long, this was one of the best organic turns we've seen in the modern era, and a truly iconic moment in RAW history.
