13. “Oh No, I Pressed The Wrong Button!”

Kazuchika Okada Wrong Button
AEW

Comedy in wrestling should be celebrated as much as a well-worked match (if not more, since the latter is almost guaranteed nowadays).

During what was a…not great Young Bucks Vs. Acclaimed programme, the latter team was scheduled to make their entrance. Max Caster motioned to perform his signature rap. He tapped the mic. It wasn’t working.

In a fantastic visual gag - if you listen carefully, you can hear Taz chortle before Okada says anything - the director cut to Kazuchika as he manned a production desk. Okada looked crestfallen, like he was in deep sh*t. “I pressed the wrong button…” he said.

“I’m so sorry!” he whined, covering his face with his hands.

Then, instantly, his expression changed into a blank, uncaring stare before he hit his signature* catchphrase.

“Bitch”.

His timing was so spot-on that you can hear a member of the audience literally howl with laughter.

*It’s not exactly his catchphrase, since every single wrestler says it for a pop, but it’s weirdly impressive that he’s made it his own.
