20. The In-Ring Debut Of The Wyatt Sicks

The introduction of the Wyatt Sicks was handled extremely well - provided you like that sort of thing and are prepared to extend much in the way of latitude towards it.

The atmospheric setting was effective, if a bit silly, if you’re less inclined to suspend your disbelief. One of the many destroyed production staffers was draped against a wall with blood from an implied exit wound splattered against it. It was nonsensical. Very over, and very nice, ironically, given that the whole massacre deal was imagined as a tribute to Bray Wyatt - but nonsensical.

Beyond that “statement” introduction, the Wyatt Sicks, some half-egregious smoke machine effects aside, actually was an act rooted in reality.

Slowly, the idea that this wouldn’t be awful took root. Cynicism started to evaporate.

It was difficult to critique the act, at first, knowing why it came to be - but then, it was difficult to deny it. Erick Rowan is awesome, it’s awesome when he throws dudes at other dudes, and the Wyatt Sicks evolved into fun, schlocky badass theatre.

No powers, all magic.
