25 Best Wrestling Moments Of 2025

9. Let The Bodies Hit The Floor

Anarchy In The Arena is the best modern gimmick match in pro wrestling, and it’s so awesome that the “modern” qualifier might not be necessary.

As ever, the fourth iteration of the match was studded with incredible highlight reel moments, an honourable mention for which was the finish. Kenny Omega blasting Matt Jackson through an exploding table with the One-Winged Angel was a sensational hybrid of violence and spectacle - a moment that embodied the spirit, tone, and brilliance of AEW’s signature creation.

But it’s too difficult to overlook how awesome the music choice was.

AEW observed comedy’s rule of three to sensational effect. The Young Bucks, debuting their ‘Founding Fathers’ look and persona, made their entrance to an 18th century-inspired fife composition, which continued to play as the match started. Kenny Omega knew that it did not suit the tone, and requested something else. This next gag was a “great” bit of self-deprecation on Tony Khan’s part. He was the only guy who thought ‘I’m So Excited’ by the Pointer Sisters worked as the Dynamite theme. That experiment was very quickly abandoned. The idea of Khan trying to make it happen again in the gorilla position was funny.

Omega tentatively played along before realising, no, that was lame - before Drowning Pool’s ‘Bodies’ played over the PA. A nostalgic wrestling anthem, it’s also a fantastic dumb-f*ck nu-metal song: utterly ideal for the carnage that was the match.

AEW played the hell out of it too, inspiring one of the rare wrestling singalongs that doesn’t make you resent how performative the modern wrestling audience is.
