25 Greatest WWE WrestleMania Matches Ever

5. Triple H Vs. Shawn Michaels Vs. Chris Benoit (WrestleMania XX)

Triple H Chris Benoit WrestleMania XX
WWE

Long before show hijackings and fans unfavorably comparing the main roster to its developmental feeder, WWE realized that the main event scene could use an infusion of understated heroes. Eddie Guerrero won the WWE Championship, and it was Benoit's time to win the doppelganger belt on Raw. A triple threat with the Kliq ruling class provided both adversity and opportunity.

Michaels' mid-air blade job that spilled about a full gallon in three seconds would have been the highlight if there wasn't an investment in Benoit's determined trek. The crowd reaction is one of both disbelief and jubilation when 'The Canadian Crippler' snares Helmsley into the Crossface. Nobody in 2002-04 thought Triple H could possibly ever tap out, but there he was, slapping his palm to cue up the IWC's soggiest dream.
